Kelli: A Beautifully Silly Boudoir Session

Over the weekend, I shot another beautiful boudoir session, this time with my other BFF, Kelli. Melissa (remember her?) played cheerleading team this time.

Let me just say - having friends support (and enjoy!) every minute of my passion makes me so grateful every single day. I truly wouldn't have ever had the courage to dive into photography if I didn't have their encouragement every step of the way (love you guys!).

Anyway, sappy gratefulness aside, Kelli's boudoir session was so fun! Her session is a true testament to the real awesomeness of boudoir - it can be so freeing to finally be comfortable in your own skin. You don't have to create a super-serious atmosphere to get amazing photos, in my opinion, the best photos are the ones that show your true personality and, even more so, the ones where you are laughing your head off!

The more I think about these sessions, the more I want to just yell from the rooftops, "YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THESE SESSIONS FOR ANYONE BUT YOURSELF! YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! REVEL IN IT!" Yes, yes, yes boudoir shoots make awesome gifts for your guy, but it also makes an amazing gift to yourself! To see yourself laughing freely, not worrying about anything else should be something to hold onto. That genuine smile, that laugh, those are what makes someone beautiful both inside and out.

So that's what I'm going to share with you from Kelli's session - the freedom of letting go. Laughter. Pushing through insecurities and letting personality shine through.

 You're welcome in advance.

I hope this session made you guys smile as much as it made me smile! It is so very rewarding to capture the best parts of a person's personality, and I'm so happy that Kelli let me share hers with you.

xoxo,

Melissa and Eric: A Bright and Snowy Valentine's Session

Happy Valentine's Day!

Remember when we held a drawing for a cute Valentine's Day session and someone won? Well today is the day I get to share that session with you!

Melissa and Eric (again? I know!) are super cute - but you guys already knew that. They have so much fun together and it definitely shows.

Our (really short) photo session took place last weekend at Marshbank Park in West Bloomfield. Let me just say this: gorgeous park in the summer, treacherous in the winter. What I thought would be a perfect location for a photo shoot turned into us trudging through 3 feet of snow only to make it to a fully snow-covered bench, swamp-cliffs hidden by the snow, blinding white super snow sun and temperatures around 10 degrees.

What did I learn from this session? I'm SO OVER this winter. I'm not a fan of photography in the snow (as of right now) , but I did manage to capture some so so cute images of Melissa and Eric being troopers out in the cold (thanks, guys xo)!

Let's get to those photos, shall we?

So cute, even on the coldest of days.

I do have to say though: these winter wonderland photos definitely have me wishing for summer!

Melissa: A Sweet and Sassy Boudoir Session

You guys.

I can't even begin to describe to you how much in love I am with this shoot. I LOVE IT.

Melissa is one of my very best friends (and a favorite of mine to photograph, if you couldn't already tell). I just knew that one day, I would have a use for her hot bod (lol)!

With Valentine's Day quickly approaching, what better way to prepare than with a sexy (yet classy) boudoir session in the comfort of (wait for it) my parents' bedroom!

Now, before you get all, "oh, that's weird" on me, look at these photos.

I mean, GORG, right?! My mommy and daddy's bedroom and fluffy white bed didn't do so bad a job, eh? (I'm totally open to using less awkward locations as well, y'all)

Here's what I learned from my first boudoir session: clients should definitely bring a friend with whom they are super comfortable and who can make them laugh. Also, a pile of clothing options is really entertaining.

Melissa (joined by our other BFF Kelli) brought pretty much her entire closet over.

This shoot was SO. MUCH. FUN. I mean, what's better than your 2 best friends and a pile of dress-up clothes? Nothing. Nothing is the answer.

Let me stop rambling on, I know you guys wanna see more of Melissa's playful gorgeousness!

(Go Green!)

Whew! What a hottie (amiright?)!

I can't wait for the next one!

xoxo,
