Jack: A Cute and Casual Impromptu Session

There's something about sitting in someone's kitchen, just hanging out and getting to snap photos. My best photos seem to almost always be the ones that I had never planned on taking (it also really helped that I was photographing probably the cutest little boy ever)! The ones that you don't plan for are the most genuine - it's like you're capturing a moment that is so beautiful, yet happens every day, and you're making those moments visible to their owners. It's amazing to see those moments frozen - to see that an instant that you take for granted is so, so beautiful in its essence.

In other news: Jack has so many faces! He's always so happy, but he also has the most adorable "GQ" face too. It was so much fun to capture his personality - and let me tell you, he was letting ALL of his personalities show!

I can't forget my favorite photos out of this session though: the sweet moments that I inadvertently captured of Jack and his mommy, Ashley. THESE are those moments I was talking about at the beginning of my post. These, to me at least, are truly beautiful.

These moments are why I'm finding myself falling deeper and deeper in love with photography. To be able to give someone these moments (especially when they are least expecting it) is such a gift to me. I am finding true joy in delivering these happy little memories to their owners and I hope to continue to do so!

Melissa and Eric: A Super Cute Holiday Session

Just over the weekend, I had my first photo session and it was everything I had hoped for in a first "real" experience! This holiday session was truly enjoyable - Melissa and Eric are so great and easy going (and also good friends of mine) and their 2 girls are so full of life, they were truly a joy to shoot.

The day was perfect for an outdoor shoot - not too cold or windy, not too sunny, just perfect. The dogs loved running around and being free. Our chosen location was easy - the local community college campus, which is across the street from where Melissa and Eric live.

I'm just starting out on this journey with mine and my husband's small business, and with patient and supportive friends like Eric and Melissa, I know we have a chance at success! A little background: creating is my passion - I never realized it fully until I noticed this intense hankering inside of me to just make something beautiful. In the past, I have created invitations and announcements for both my wedding and baby shower/pregnancy  and got such joy from making something unique that other people can enjoy. I've now added photography to my creative cravings. I love seeing that smile on someone's face when they know what they are holding is special.

My aim for my photography is this: simple photo sessions using natural light and natural situations. When there's no fake lights or pressure on posing, you get to see the real light in their eyes.

Our plan for the future is to get more experience for now and see where that leads us. The intention is not to become an unaffordable luxury. The intention is to create a family centered, fun and affordable means to create lasting memories for our clients and their families.

I started making my own invitations, announcements, holiday cards, and photos because I was unable to afford having someone do it for me. Doing that has kindled the passion I already had for creating into something more. We are here for those of you who are like us. We want you to be able to have memories you can hold onto, without breaking the bank.

We want our clients to feel comfortable, cared for, and ulimately, that they are a part of our little family. Everyone deserves the very best, and our hope is to give you that.

I absolutely cannot wait for Melissa and Eric to see the rest of their images! This couple is so sweet, I fell in love with every photo!

Happy Holidays and here's to a new year filled with light, love and exciting opportunities!

xoxo
