A few weeks ago I had the honor (and I totally mean that) of capturing the sweetest little courthouse wedding in downtown Detroit. It was an amazing experience: Diamond and Creed have such kind hearts and their love for one another makes them glow. I feel so blessed that they chose me to photograph their wedding day. Not only did they invite me to share their special day, but they made me feel as if I were a part of their family. Spending the day with them was simply spending the day trolling around town with close friends: it was bliss.
Creed and Diamond were married at the Wayne County Courthouse in Detroit (and on a randomly gorgeous day!) It was a small, simple ceremony shared with the closest of family and friends. The ceremony was so sweet and I do have to admit, I shed a few tears. Seriously you guys, these two are perfect for one another. The way they looked at each other during their vows said it all.
Following the ceremony, we took a field trip over to the Detroit Institute of Arts for an art-filled photo session. Art is a huge part of this pair's life and being in an art museum seemed just right for them. Creed had stories to share about multiple genres found in the museum and both he and Diamond were in awe over the masterpieces on display, as was I.
Once we had our fill of the DIA, Diamond and Creed led me to some art outside of the museum. Let me tell you, Detroit is filled with art. If you ever get a chance to just go touring around town, do it. There is beauty in even the most unexpected of places. The piece that they chose for some of their photos was breathtaking (and made for my favorite photos of the entire day)!
So - Congratulations to Diamond and Creed: may you always have the same passion for one another; your love is art.
